Neither have I, and I don’t mind if antags get executed. You fucked up, pay the price, maybe you’ll learn something from your failure. Death is also not the end as there are multiple ghost roles and midrounds.
I guess we have completely different mindsets to playing security.
You have no idea how many people i have searched once they came to “help” dealing with antag that have nabbed or tried to nab gear.
I just dont trust them not to try to grab shit… sometimes they are antags themselves trying to get free loot.
They shove me down? arrested for assault.
Just be empathetic and polite with people, sec can be really gratifying when crew feels like your there to help them and not arrest them.
Can i replicate “Pick up that can” from half life?
Please talk to a person first before arresting them if you can.
The worst experiences I have had with sec just have me being attacked for no reason, having everything confiscated (I was 100% stripped with only a prison ID to my name) and being told while I was on cuffs on the shuttle that it “was a mistake,” and I was “the wrong guy.”
The best experiences I have had start with communication. Tell me you have some questions to ask, or that you have a warrant to arrest. Some people will try to run and go unga bunga. Most people will comply.
Also, understand brainwashing. Seen people be perma-ed for being hypnotised by a syndie. If someone is evil and have the “looping thought pattern” trauma, have brig phys do some brain surgery and they should be back to their own allegiances soon.
Regarding executions:
Of course I am an MRP main, but I think there is a lot of potential to tell a story. Many times EOC have to be executed, but play off of that. Have a chaplain read the person their last rights. set up a trial. Hell, create a public gallows. The “enemy” is still a person playing a game. Allow them to have a bit of the spotlight and to let their story be told.
Borging is also an option. Much more fun than just executing people IMO. Gives a whole lot of potential for roleplay and ensures that the player behind the screen isn’t stuck waiting for a random ghost role to spawn.
On MRP? Maybe
LRP? You’re going to die while typing
Just use your security hailer. Make sure to use wire cutters on it.
