Supernatural Restraint Collar

Just an idea i had after looking at the recent post about silicons dealing with holopara’s.

The idea is a collar item that would prevent the use of supernatural powers e.g holopara manifest, wizard spells, cult magic.

The collar would need tools to remove by themself or someone else to remove it, similar to electropack.

A single collar would be available in armory with additional ones requiring ordered from cargo for a hefty price.

Would give the ability to restrain otherwise uncontainable antag which are usually just killed on sight.

Other idea was to instead allow chaplain to bless cat collars to do the same effect.

Also humiliate them.

It’s not possible to restrain a holoparasite user, because the holoparasite will kill anyone before they can apply the restraints.

First you need to make holoparasite turn off when user is in critical status, make the holoparasite get disabled instead of user getting ashed, with a generous respawn timer (10 minutes or more) for the holoparasite player so they are not totally out of the round. Then you can start contemplating how to restrain the user.

But really ideal solution would be removing holoparasites as they are just murderbone unstunnable deathmachines that bypass all ranged/melee combat limitations and can spam their attacks insanely fast without ever running out of any resource. It’s a really limited interaction when the only option is to kill them as there’s no downtime, no disabling, nothing but brute force.

Don’t remove holoparas. If you must, make them wizard only, as wizard is already an unbalanced meme gamemode.

To force someone to apply an item, you and them must both remain still for several seconds. A holoparasite can drag someone away, preventing this.

This kind of “remove every antag who hurt my feelings” mindset is why some people are leaving this server already. For a lack of better words, git gud.

Holoparas are a trade. Final death for a random ghost becoming your stand that you can desing. Most people dont use holoparas though.
