BS miners have already fell victim to the wrath of the coder bus and now you gotta wait for miners if you want rare material again. I’m writing this in hope to add a a new way to the game to get rare material without turning miners into useless megafauna hunters, while the method itself is still not very easy.
You won’t get infinite material this way, you simply turn the material you don’t need into a material you need, and it’s not a single tile machine that magically does this, you actually need to set a sort of engine for this and it consumes a lot of power so you can’t do it round start unless you have a very efficient power source.
Machines added:
PA-MAG rod: comes in 3 variations, positive, negative and neutral. Each of these rods gather 1 type of sub atom particles (neutron, proton and electron) around itself according to it’s charge and delivers them to a Constructor when needed. It’s powered by emitters.
Atom extractor: extracts atoms from the materials inserted, then releases the atoms from it’s output section, this section has to be set inside an energy field (explained below) to actually do something, or else it just outputs the inserted material. Consumes a large amount of power.
Atom constructor: takes particles from nearby rods to print out the chosen material. Consumes a large amount of power.
Field generators are already in game, you also need to set a particle accelerator so that the field has enough energy to break atoms into subparts and the field also has to be in vaccum. The rods have to be inserted inside the field, they can be close to each other but they will perform horribly this way, the more distance they have from each other, the more efficient they are.
Efficiency: the field is highly unstable, it can still reach a state that it is possible to perform work on particles. States are: Chaotic - highly unstable - unstable - workable. Any state other than workable deactivates the constructor.
More efficient rods means it gets stable faster.
Material values:
You can’t just drop in 1 iron to get 1 diamond, to get rarer materials you need to put more stuff (or put materials with higher value)
For example, each stack of diamond takes 50 units worth of particles to be created, to have this amount you must put 50 irons/30 silver/10 gold and so on. Plasma and uranium have the highest input value, diamond and bananium takes
a lot to be created but they have low input value.
To print materials higher than gold, you need to upgrade the constructor, diamond and bananium each need circuit upgrades which must be printed using the same material.
What happens if things go wrong:
Field is not a vaccum (any sort of gas or solid objects inside): gas gets destroyed and solid objects get dusted as if they were hit by a super matter crystal. They don’t leave ash remains, this adds to the amount of particles inside but severly damages the stability rate. Rods and the tile underneath them are shielded from this effect. (Clown makes a pipe route into a teleporter which leads into the field, the perfect prank.)
Rods/emitters run out of power: field destablizes until power gets back on.
Accelerator turned off: particles turn into random material and gases inside the field and stability goes nuts. Nothing gets dusted anymore inside.
Field generators deactivated: nearby solids are dusted, the rest is the same as Accelerator turned off failure state.
Stability state is chaotic: chance of containtment breach inside.
Some madman teleported a supermatter crystal inside: eh…
I wanted to code this myself but: 1-im a shit coder 2- I need to gather opinions before making any move since it is a big change.
