Appeal Reason: Half of the ban reason lacks context and the other half is false.

“Bad escalation, critted officer for trying to arrest them after they shot chaplain with pneumatic-cannon-syndie-card as non-antag, alongside continuing to throw syndie card at 3 other people” - lacks context.

Yesterday i found out that pneumatic cannon is quite a good weapon, capable of critting in 2 hits. I was testing different ammo types for the cannon and asking people if i can use it on them. I carried full medkit, and after i recieved a green light from my test subject, i would fire at them, check damage, heal, talk a bit about other stuff i can put inside the gun and then leave. Later into the round i was talking with chaplain who wanted to go to cryo. He wanted to give me his holy weapon, but i declined and asked if he wanted to check out my new recepie ( which was 3 cards and broken bottle). I shot him, healed and as we started to talk, a sec officer who was watching this all unfold came behind me and started cuffing me. When asked whats his problem was, he started saying that he will now arrest me. Next 1 minute was me asking him to stop and what is his problem, and him being unresponsive and telling me he will drag me to brig by force if i wont let myself be cuffed. After i decline one last time, he pulls baton and starts chasing me, i shot him with me cannon and put him into crit. Right as the cmo and chap tried to heal him ( i band aided him ) he death ghosted and ragequited.

“and continuing to hunt security”- this is false

Instead hunting for antags blowing medbay and depressurizing the station , security decided this round to hunt me instead. I never hunted any sec, cuz i was literally running from them half the shift. At first they thought i was a rev ( i had a flash from rd lobby) but after i voluntarily got mindshielded, they thought was a terrorist and a traitor. The story from above was the only time i used force, cuz it was about to be 3rd time for me getting arrested while station was going to shitter. I even went on a 5 minute rant on the radio to leave me alone after i managed to outrun a moff sec. But when i was bout to leave for evac with my face hidden, i saw the same moff officer dying on the floor, alone, near medical. And guess what that epic sec hunter did? I fucking ran thru depressurized medbay to grab the toxin kit and save him from going into deep crit. After he went back up he even said he was sorry for chasing me all this round and i was “one of the good guys” all along.

**Additional Information:**This round was the perfect example of incompetence bordering on shitsec from sec and command. All officers were visibly new to sec and i wasnt gonna let myself be arrested over and over again cuz “gurg has hurt pew pew”. And we all know how briging works with new sec. You get striped, your shit stolen, you are beeing dragged around for 10 minutes as they look for warden, and then you end up in the cell for all eternity cuz the valiant officer doesnt know how to set timer. And there was no warden and hos this round. In breaks for hunting me, sec was beating cmo with captain and arresting a dude who said captain had small pp in comms.

In the end i urge you to check the logs cuz i cant make this shit up. I am 100% sure the banning admin didnt even check them himself / herself/ itself.

So a few comments about the logs :

  1. You can see that sec tried to arrest me even before the incident. Also i dont see that sec hunting part, or me attacking any sec aside from the incident.

  2. The stuff at the begining with me loading syringes with toxin and throwing flashbang - those were maint loot. I didnt even use the syringe gun. Syringe gun spawns with 1 toxin bottle. Flashbangs spawn in abandoned det office.

  3. Those whole "shaking"interactions with ce was me annoying her with hugging her and calling her my gf. She beat me up a bit, choked me and even tried to torch me with flamenwarfen ( which you can see in the logs). I flashed her once when she pulled flamethrower on me again, which, once more, is in the logs. The one thing i did out of spite, was hitting her with race chainging tabbaco leaf which… IS AGAIN IN THE LOGS AND NO CARDS INVOLVED.

  4. The pneumatic cannon logs show me firing at the floor. That was cuz i was switching ammo from deadly cards to race chainging tabbaco leaves i got from a botanist ( thats why in the logs i am asking Cash Lester for pod people toxin aka " toxin" and telling them ill wait). When i was firing the cannon during the chase after the incident, it was loaded with leaves, nothing remotely lethal ( again its in the logs).

  5. The incident log literally match up with my saylog: me talking to chap asking him if i can show him my weapon → me shooting chap-> us talking thats its robust → me askig why sec is cuffing me → me shooting sec. Also that conversation i had with chap is cut in half and thats why it starts from the middle.

All my bans have been appealed and accepted. Those that stayed are either for powergaming (1 ban and 3 notes from 2 months ago) too much praying ( thanks yorpan you wont be missed), and broken captain conduct on MRP (kinda no fun police but a fair ban). I dont see a single overescalation ( i dont know if monke grace even counts, that ban is so wierd).

While I will be leaving review and conclusion to @SuperDork55. I would like to add that, the time listed as “INCIDENT” is during which time I was watching the situation, and as you did this infront of a sec officer without addressing them, it could be argued that you baited the sec officer into arresting you so you could shoot them. Even with permission, firing a weapon at a fellow work colleague could be reasonably interpreted as attempted manslaughter (and is pretty LRP in general).

Baited officer into arresting then critted them when being arrested instead of talking with them. Just kept walking away, saying, “wots ur problem m8,” instead of explaining yourself for what you should be able to assume why the officer was arresting you.

Unless you suffered extreme trauma to the head while playing and forgot what you were doing, I don’t see how this helps your case. Just looks like bad b8 m80.

  1. I wasnt baiting the officer, if i was i would crit every singe one of them that came after me.
  2. The arresting officer wasnt responsive, he wanted to cuff me and didnt explain what the ground for arrest was. I wasnt gonna sit in the brig for 10 minutes and be robbed of maint loot.
  3. The officer from before and after trying to disable me ( ohio) was at least a bit responsive and i managed to talk to him after this whole shitstorm ( which is cut out from logs). Thats why i even healed him, cuz i am more than chill with officers doing their job and not lookig for truble by force.
  4. The dude that i crited got down to -9 hp and ghosted after a few seconds. I am 100% sure he didnt even know what the fuck he was doing, saw me shooting a weapon and got shit scared that i am antag. As a sec player you should know how shitty are the new sec, constantly looking for people to arrest, not talkative, harmbaton oriented and overall incompetent.

When I first heard about this incident and when I saw logs I thought that is was on LRP, then this ban might have actually been too much and also all of your arguments would have made a little bit more sense. But it was on MRP, and that’s the problem.

Looking at this appeal alone, you clearly do not understand what is roleplay on a medium roleplay server. During this round you’ve been doing all kinds of shittery, not to mention your not very RP-friendly name Ung Glob (that you should have been bwoinked for anyway).

There is a tiny difference between security on Golden and on Sage.
On Golden, of course, they need to get them valids and all, but on Sage, on the other hand, security tries to fulfill a role of… security. On Sage their job is not only to deal with obvious antagonists, but also they are supposed to make sure that noone breaks any law and doesn’t harm anyone.
I understand that you might not agree with the officer arresting you on what’s right or wrong, but your response was an overescalation. Hell, even on Golden if someone resists such peaceful arrest with a deadly force, they very likely are an antag.
So that’s like… overescalation, self antag and bad roleplay?
Additionally you have been banned for bad roleplay as a head in this very month, and you still seem to not get this roleplay thing. I think you’re better off on Golden. I’d even suggest a permanent ban on the next offense.

Aight, i kinda agree on that roleplay thing, i tend to loosen up a bit in the lower pop rounds and significantly lower RP standard. Still, i think that security officer was far from peaceful. He didnt say a word, tried cuffing me then batoning and expected me to be fine with it. He saw my entire conversation with chap ( that was friendly from beginning to end) and still decided to go unga bunga on me. The correct way to handle this situation was to talk to me and i guarantee you when he would explain what his deal was and why am i getting arrest and for how long, i would go with him to the brig ( like i did at the beginning of the round and got myself implanted). I however wasnt keen on getting arrested once again with no explanation by newbie sec. My idea was to crit him, heal a bit and tell him to fuck off once and for all, and i am fairly sure you can see me or chap trying to heal him in the logs ( like with ohio later on) and cmo taking him to the medbay. But he ghosted the second i crited him. My main pain in the balls is the ban reason. Cuz i didnt card random civilians, nor did i went on an epic sec hunting expedition. The most i see myself getting banned for, is bad rp.

I still stand with the fact that sec should have priorities. When the station is getting cucked by traitors, your mission is to hunt the bomber, not arrest a random ass assistant showing off makeshift weapon to his buddy. At the end of the round station looked like swiss cheese, mostly thanks to sec and command being autistic, which is dereliction of duty and ( low and behold) is punishable by space law.

When i started playing s13 i was maining sec on paradise for some reason. And i was a shitty fucken sec with no knowledge of the game, arresting people for having a toolbelts which i called “hacking gear” at the time. I was more invested in catching petty criminals like assistants than hunting lings ( that i didnt even know existed). I moved way past this now, but i can still smell a new and shitty sec from a mile away and nothing more grinds my gears than new players taking on one of the most important roles on the station. And i can bet my left testicle, that the guys that were so invested in hunting me, had little to none prior sec experience. Did one of them deserve to get carded for that? No. Did i deserve to be hunted down all shift? Also no. It was a shitty situation that started from sec being spastic, and i aint gonna play by the rules when they are clearly not aware how to calmly and reasonably address the problem they are facing . I am still gonna point you to the healing ohio situation. He only calmed his tits off, when he was in crit, with my healing him out of it. And that was my point with the “incident guy”. I wanted to heal him off, tell him to leave me alone and that i wasnt the big bad guy.

Also Ung Glob is a good name, it was appealed 2 times and accepted, its even in my note history.

The equivalent of this situation is police jumping into the boxing ring after the sparing cuz “they were hurting each other and brawl is a no no”. Who the fuck even intervenes in something like that. He saw our conversation from beginning to end, me shooting the guy, me healing the guy and the guy being totally fucking fine with it. HE REFUSED TO TELL ME WHY I WAS EVEN BEING ARRESTED. He prolly saw me shooting the gun and didnt even care what the context behind it was. I doubt he even looked at the chat. And the moment he got robusted for his smoothbrain moment, he dced even tho in soft crit. The moment he failed, he ragequited even tho he was getting healed. Epic and secpilled.

I’m on your side, I think you should be unbanned. A security officer arresting you without talking might as well have been an abductor and ignoring someone is just plain rude deserving of being critted.
Nothing is worse than being left in a cell or left to die without knowing why. If you can see that the security person is new and refuses to communicate it is reasonable to assume they might put you in jail forever.
A security officer not being able to do their job is not rp friendly either and should be held to a higher standard than other departments and so it’s justifiable for him to shoot him with a weapon that only soft critted him. It’s the sec’s fault for disconnecting like a little bitch.
