I want to see some ideas that focus entirely on being fun. They dont have to be perfectly balanced, they dont have to fit in with what we expect. Give me your most insane ideas, but an idea that you would actually want to see nonetheless.
It could be ghost roles that attack the station, ERTs callable by command, ghosts voting for events, or literally anything. Be creative!
Hereâs a fresh off my brain idea, making robotics and genetics parallel each other.
Genetic powers no longer are given by mutations, itâs implanting and modifying organs and meat in your body like experimental surgeries and robotics stuff. Add in a bunch more cool genetics stuff, acid spit, spider legs, bug vision, bear muscles, pistol shrimp claw, octopus tentacle hands, bone toolset, mitosis, and more so that people give a shit about it beyond space adaptation.
Straight up rip off the cyberpunk humanity system for robotics so they have their own version of DNA instability. If you have too many implants you straight up fry your brain. Then add in a ton of cool shit just like genetics, I said on the discord a sandevistan is easy just make it pop wizard timestop, then you got other things like subdermal armor so you get augmented damage reduction without losing your skin, gun implants (skull and arm), tire/track legs to live out tank fantasy, metal gear rocket hand, synthetic vocal chords that let you speak binary, legs that let you crawl as fast as you can run, painstopper that removes crit threshold but not damage slowdown, another mutually exclusive thing that removes damage slowdown, remote interaction hands, binocular eyes, full body conversions that make you almost a borg, all kinds of stuff.
Basically rip off Warhammer for biological stuff, rip off Cyberpunk for synthetic stuff. Isnât this what a server does, you get to pick between kind of synth or kind of bio? I forget I think that might be bay who does that.
Going to share this old post I made way back about a Jungle Planet idea I had years ago.
I feel like this could be done as either a medium sized planet (containing just a few of the proposed features/ruins) that explorers could âdiscoverâ by finding by doing missions, and if all of them are found they will unlock the ability for the station to travel to there. Or have it be a possible alternative to lavaland that will generate 25% of the time, but much larger and create a lot of brand new ruins and such.
The main changes I would make to my initial post way back in '21 is probably just changing what stuff you could make with the current jungle megafuana still left in the code
As explorers have been on the server and changed a little over the years, I think this could be a super fun way to break the typical loop they do, allow the curator to do more things, use some of my personal favorite mobs that are still in the code (and some unused stuff in the wiki), and a way to make beestation in general be more unique and even more to offer for new players.
Rat trading, which I think i posted before somewhere once.
Basically, maints rats will trade things for cheese to start with, but you can also trade both cheese and an item for another item, letting you climb up in item rarity. The catch, of course, is that you need multiple rats, thereâs time-gating and same-rat prevention, and some real scavenging and/or crafting is required, but you could end with some really cool stuff, iâm thinking anomaly cores, rare technology/disks and more.
Also, reason to keep rats alive and just tile your maints.

Merchant midround antag that comes to station with their own ship that doubles as shop and sells rare and probably illegal goods to the crew. Their objective is to get certain amount of goods similar to pirates and maybe some valuable unique item such as captains rapier, compact combat shotgun or precious station pet. All of those things they can get only through trading and generally arenât supposed to leave their ship.
gateway-esque missions maybe for like a station objective
Personaly i loved the Tower Defense Aspect of the Wizard academy and fending off hoards of adventurers Nazerick style
The Factory was also very fun for the difficult PVE and epic flavourtext and lore about the little dungeon
Also Real Pirates, give the lavaland syndis a shuttle so they can terrorise Explorer and Mining shuttles, Supercruise is extremely fun but underused or just make a Space Syndi base and give them like those Hotel Staff implants which vapourise them on station zlevel
Rat breeding (Cheese + Rat = lots of rats, TG has it) + Rat King antag from TG but tweaked(also we honor RatĂłn)
New Ghost Roles, in particular ââTrader Shipsââ, this may require a revamp of the docking port but think about it! different traders from different species with questionable alliances have a goal of sell X amount of goods/earn X amount of credits/sell X amount of contraband and can go around the station offering their services or just protecting their ship, lots of RP potential and bring back players to the round without necessarily being antags.
(Just as i finished writing this part i saw Calicomp shared a similar idea)
Making the Space Hotel, Charlie, Russian Station(drones) have a chance to spawn without requiring an exploring generating the z-level first, that way this offers more stuff to do and in a way it involves the crew (teleport to Hotel, explorers rescuing/helping Charlie crew or themselves going to the station) This could also be applied to the asteroid syndie base, the ââDJââ and Space Mcdonalds
New lavaland bosses like the Wendigo(others servers have them), alongside new items that are not combat-focused but can be of utility for the Station
Reintroduction of the gateway maps as a crew objective, if they do X building that ââcalibrates a signalââ it opens up a gateway map with X theme and ââlootââ to reward the Station, ideally the project could involve multiple departments and not only engi(once the gateway map is open that also requires coordination) and talking about thatâŚ
New Crew objectives to do or the ability to choose them, which makes me think:
Add a PDA program only for the Captainâs where they can send to the crew stuff like ââShuttle Call? Y/Nââ ââChoose the crew projectââ and similar ââdemocraticââ stuff(that they can obviously ignore lol but it opens a path of gameplay)
Rework of the Lifebringers/Ex-podpeople now Dionaes where they can create special grass tiles that work like the cultist ones (they have stable atmos) but ONLY work on Lavaland or basically a way for them to ââterramorphââ the hostile enviroment into something habitable and maybe added effects similar like the Anomalous Crystal from Legion (?) where it can spawn some simple mobs and trees, so it could be a mix of the Chaplain orb + anomalous crystal but involves doing X stuff in their ship.
Bring back the ââMiasmaââ concept where rotten bodies, blood poodles, being covered in blood, stinky lines affected areas/characters, the hygiene system should be important to have an excuse to take showers, wash hands, desinfect, etcetera and it makes perfect sense IC for the average spacemen worker, failure to do that should bring consequences (nosive gas, diseases, maybe even⌠lure blood demons? a.k.a increase the % chance of a single one spawning)
More station midround events like the return of the scrubber event(Wilson tried to do that PR but they couldnât finish it), something like those red portals from Explo spawning creatures across the station and similar shenanigans

Deadspace Unitology ideology antagonists!
Starts by convening on the chapel, (with the chaplain being the initial antagonist if one is present, and new chaplains being part of the Unitologists)
Over time, people start turning into Dead Space enemies!
Give the curator a single use item to connect a wall camera to a channel in the newscaster which everyone can access publicly. This camera captures audio and everything said, and you are able to see how many people are watching. You can make a show through this or podcasts in station, and it can also be accessed by those random TVs in maint that say theyâre running ads in examine text
Maybe with upgrades through better parts you can get a mobile version of this similar to the camera channel that borgs have, so your show isnât limited to one location.
