I already said Ambic, I AM NOT THE KIND OF MINER YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH.
But how many are like you?
Old Bee (un)fun fact, this used to actually sort of be the case. Due to a terrible little thing called council rulings that persisted for way longer than they should have, it was explicitly stated that killing Ian made you valid, this applied even on Sage if Iām remembering correctly - where validity wasnāt supposed to exist even back then. Does that make any sense? Hell no, but it was a thing that would come up sometimes.
Reminds me how Iāve heard a mime talking made them valid too. Weird stuff.
Yep, that used to be a thing as well, thatās one I like bringing up a lot. That also applied to Sage too.
Thankfully we killed council rulings like a year ago, but they were around for longer than most of us would have liked.
Thatās roughly when I joined, good timing. What was the council rulings? Was it a circle of all assistants deciding the laws of the lands?
So from what I know, being a secondary source instead of a tertiary source, the player council was a group meant to represent the playerbase in the decision making of the server. Unlike all other staff roles, the player council was an elected position.
Given the uh, state, of golden at the time it was created (it wasnāt quite as bad as the post-DDOS desolation era, but most of the people involved in forums and the community at the time were El Robusto) the player council basically did end up being a circle of assistants deciding the laws of the lands, yes.
The player council ended up with such all stars as Dimas and WindowsError, with Dimas being responsible for this wonderful screenshot
and WindowsError being a lot harder to track down on account of being fucking nuked off the surface of Beestation three times over.
A lot of them were not what modern beestation would consider āgood peopleā or āupstanding citizensā or āsaneā
when are we going to remove this guy from our code smh and replace the QM statue sprite with me instead of him
oh right yeah thatās a fun tidbit that i forgot was still within the game
Dimas is living in my walls.
He will stay in the code as long as those who were there to witness his greatness still draw breath, and i have literally never seen you in game for like the entirety of my time here lmao
your loss! I am Quartermastery asshole! Even Crossed recognises it

The end of an era ![]()
The council may be gone, but its shitters live on rent free in our hearts and minds
distant beutiful sounds of someone being toolboxed to death by an assistant over insuls
Itāll never happen but I always wondered if the council would work better now than before ![]()
Although Iām pretty sure I know how it would turn out.
Maybe 2, I taught two others.
I have a lot of doubt, maybe if the right people were voted in but the last attempt had mostly members who won by popularity vs being the right players for the job
i think something like Headmin Rulings - /tg/station 13 Wiki could work better
Based. I join as a mime just to be annoying and not fill up the clown slot
Enforcing Headmin rulings as actual rules and not on a case by case basis would be a massive headache, and not at all worth the trouble in my opinion.
Thats one way to give a role a bad name
People who contaminate evidence should be able to be fined through space law
