I’ve got a method to this. So you get two random generators. One for backstory. one for personality. Roll both each round, and stick to the results. Backstory is best remained simple. like… “Failed clown” or “Cult Escapee”. You can fill in the details in the round. If you want, you could also have a “specialized” random generator for backstories on certain roles. like security or command.
This is the only downside. My advice for mitigating this? Mirrors. and dresser if you happen to not like your characters underwear.

I am thinking of the situation of various players being of one group. I don’t know how a perfect world would be where everyone is Randy Random, and what the downsides and advantages of that would be, but I understand for the other two that the rigidness is a big downside

I hate Doctors who work against Chemistry instead of with Chemistry. I’ve seen a Doctor take a living mildly wounded patient into Medbay to do tending surgery on them when they can be healed with a simple Oxandrocyclic pill already 30+ of in my Chemistry fridge. Doctors can offer other services other than doing a shittier job than the Chemist in terms of healing.
Implants! Advanced surgeries! Redecorating Medbay Treatment Center because it is ALWAYS so God damn shite! Stocking up on chems on their person, I think it was Soo-Min who would always use my chemistry to become a walking chemistry fridge. Could even offer to help other departments directly if you are so bored of life! Ask Exploration if you can join them, ask to become a Brig Phys (maybe a second Brig Phys?), ask to join the Miners in their quest to die as quickly as humanly possible!

I won’t stand for this defamation. McDonald’s breakfast is easily S tier, second only to Chick-Fil-A. Their lunch and dinner options aren’t great yeah I’ll give you that. Regional chains are usually better.
BUT! McDonald’s is fucking DIRT CHEAP if you use the app. The coupons are insane, 20% off every day, BOGO stuff, points, you name it. I could go to a McDonald’s right now and order like 3500 calories for less than $10. Quantity is a quality of its own. Plus the mcchicken is alright and better than the burgers.

McDonalds is for when you are too lazy to make your own food but also too poor to buy food. Just make a sandwich or two in the morning. Yogurt and porriage is also good options.
Also, make food at home and bring it with you when you leave home. Unless your work place where or where ever you are is still in the stone age, they should have a microwave available to heat it up your meal.
I made pasta carbonara and it lasted for like half a week for four mouths. Sometimes having other meals so it doesn’t get too repetitive.
