[POLL] Do you consider shortened phrases (i.e. shitsec) to be detrimental to the game?

why are some people so pressed about a name like chillax

Using this kind of language fosters a more lax approach to roleplay (functionally LRP)
It’s indicative of how much effort someone someone is putting into rp

How does this foster a more lax approach to roleplay? Because the community of ss13 came up with it? I’m having trouble understanding.

Jesus christ you guys really are insufferable aint you?

(The ones challenging the glorious status quo, you know damn well who you are)

As the Self proclaimed head of “SEC reform”* and overall relaxed Warden/HoS, more often than not the only folks arrested calling shitsec are:

  • clowns (of course)
  • Caught antags
  • actual borderline griefers.

though I am called to remember this time we legitimately had a bureaucratic nightmare with a VIP who just magnetized themselves to contraband. that was not Shitsec perse due to a lack of caring about the job and the RP of it, it was due to situation decay and just wanting to get the guy who had half a backpack’s worth of contraband dealt with in a timely manner, even when we mistook him for stealing a shotgun when he was actually returning it.

I agree, the only time getting called SHITSEC bothers me is when it’s someone who’s doing shitty gimmicks, doing zero roleplay and being borderline griefer with LRP mechanics, reminds me of a kid throwing a tantrum because you ruined their “fun”, there’s really a lot of people who get MAD when caught and immediatly start shouting shitsec, they need to take a chill pill lol
