As HOP decided the most prudent way to kill a single traitor who had killed their 2 targets and the RD was to use black oil extracts all over the station.

What you have presented as the incident description is very deceitful and leaves out the threat that Liz Evergarden posed, the context concerning the usage of the oil extracts and the actions I took to patch up the most garish damage caused.
Liz Evergarden was a traitor equipped with several extremely powerful xenobio extracts namely the bluespace extract, which teleports you out of dangerous situations in the blink of an eye.
Several personnel suggested that the best way to do this was to use stamina weaponry, i.e. disablers and bolas, but even these methods were relatively ineffective at incapacitating, let alone killing Liz Evergarden.
In acute desparation, I turned to using the oil extracts in xenobio, which Liz had been comandeering, even though she was an explorer. Surprisingly, she did not produce a large amount of oil extracts, and I was able to procure all 5 of them; I proceeded to try and instagib Liz with them, but given the extracts she had in her possession, or due to my poor timing, she was able to avoid even the most precise throws from me.
The only friendly fire I can recall was a brig phys who ran into one of the oil extracts, though that’s not taking into account the harm caused by the depressurisation and the oxygen loss, though its worth pointing out that I did patch some of the most egregious damage to the station caused, except for the one in departures, which was patched by an engineer.
In response to your statement about Liz completing her objectives, even after she killed her two targets she continued to fire her e-bow at both you, who was infact the RD that you mentioned was killed by her, and me, who tried to save you from her. Furthermore, she continued to harass Medical with her shitty little e-bow and so that pressed me to use the option that I considered the most effective for taking her down, an explosive which had great killing power and could counter the power of her ridiculous extracts.
In addition, you kept pestering me for all access, after your RD ID was stolen by Liz, after you were revived in medbay, and after I told you repeated times that the situation was too pressing to go out of my way to do that, I finally relented and gave you an all access ID to stop your incessant nagging.
In addition to this, you threatened me while we were on the shuttle by saying that everyone should lynch me, even though I tried my best to neutralise the extremely pressing threat, even though the methods I entailed were a bit disruptive, I admit, as opposed to you, who did nothing moan at the loss of your ID, while several members of crew and the captain were actually trying to neutralise her with whatever weapons they had at their disposal, and you continued to berate me throughout our entire trip, though that’s probably because I arrested you for that threat, which I thought was warranted.
In response to your accusation that I violated Rule 12, I used the 5 oil extracts I had with the direct aim of killing Liz Evergarden, and attempted to use them at the most careful discretion, and when possible, I patched the holes in the station up, as stated previously. I also considered the danger of the oil extracts, which is why I killed all of the oil slimes and asked AI to depower xenobio, after I had taken the oil extracts, and after I realised the frustrating effects of the breaches, I did not use them further on. The actions I took in attempting to stop Liz were justified, at least in my mind, by the intense threat that she represented and realised in her constant harassment of the crew with her piece of shitfuck e-bow, and the complete ineffectiveness of everything and anything we could throw at her. The aftermath of the extracts I considered, but I was not faced with the scale of the disruption that was caused by the breaches until we attempted pursuits of her in the hallways.
Was I shit that round as a HoP? It is likely, but it was further compounded upon by the intense pressure of being under siege for 20 minutes straight while you are exhausting every possible avenue for ending the threat, while you are being harangued by your crew for not dealing with a situation that is very clearly untenable.
Hope this clears up the situation, or at least adds nuance to the unfortunate events that occured.
Could you give a rough estimate of the crews number, as well as how many security staff were present, if any.

E-bow is not an intense threat that requires you to blow someone up, this is in fact a faux pas to cover for massive skill issues, if you wanna play HOPcurity then expect to be judged by securities rules, and I think you’ll find using bombs as security is self antagging, especially for something which isn’t even a capital crime.

It is when paired with several potent extracts, such as the one I described in the OP. I wasn’t blowing her up for using the e-bow, I was trying to blow her up because there were no other methods of incapacitating her.
This is in fact a faux pas to cover for massive skill issues
When you are dealing with an person who is adept in a field like xenobio, which is notorious for being incredibly unbalanced, from which you can produce ridiculously strong extracts even when utilised by even the most moronic greytider. I don’t think that this is entirely a skill issue, given what resources were available.

Liz was attacking literally everyone in medical in hit-and-run bursts. Am I in the wrong for defending myself and trying to prevent more crew in medbay from being gunned down by Liz, who is known for murderboning, or should I just let her walk all over us in order not to be considered HoPcurity?

You have a perverse view of what self-antagging is, I was trying to stop a murderous traitor using the only method I thought capable of incapacitating her, and I would not have resorted to doing it in circumstances less dire.
Especially for something which isn’t even a capital crime
She literally committed Prime Murder on two of her targets.

As opposed to your one sentence summary, I consider what I wrote less egregious than your description of events, which I suspect was written in anger, likely justifiable, over having to patch the hole in departures

This is the main issue here. Lethal and station destructive force.
However I can also see from the reams of logs she was hitting everyone in the station repeatedly so it’s a very on the line case, especially coupled with the lack of alternatives.
Not something that would warrant a ban but a note for being more careful when using things that can kill passers by and also space small parts of the station.
