They aren’t. Admins should really understand when they are asked mentor questions. Mentors clearly feel little obligation to answer anything but the most basic things. I really hate when I ahelp an mhelp questions and the answer from from an admin is “this should’ve been mhelped”

Like really. When was the last time a mentor got demoted for not being helpful (i’m not talking about a mentor being demoted for belligerence)

Example of question you asked? Also have you considered that perhaps at the time, none of the mentors really knew the answer to that?
I heard about this one mentor called LastCrusader or something, one round he died cause even admins didn’t know the answer so he went to have a look and blew himself up with the Grenade

The main point of mentor is being able to use mentorchat even when ooc is muted

You could be right but:
-We are not godlike human computers. None of us knows everything about the game ans we just try to help you with things that we know. We are not going to confuse you by giving you answers that we are not sure of.
-We are usually playing the game while we answer you, so maybe mentors are busy fighting or dealing with plasma fires and they can’t answer you.
-Im not saying we all are helpful, yes there are mentors who don’t care about mhelps, but I’ve never seen one and all mhelps that I saw till this day were answered very quickly.

half the mentors aren’t qualified for mentor
crossed is “working on it” but in reality he’s not doing shit
If you get a message saying you should have mhelped, you probably didn’t mhelp as we can see mhelps too
also I only really use the ‘you should have mhelpped’ button as a backup when I don’t know something

I’m just throwing this out there but literally every time i’ve mhelped they always answer me like instantly and completely.
I’m pretty sure i mhelped yesterday night when you were the only mentor on and there was no response
At least 1/2 my mhelped are ignored. to be fair i don’t think i ask simple questions but it is kind of a pattern
Most admins have never told me I should have mhelped. But it’s happened and I really think it should be well-known with admins that ahelped mhelps are ok
mhelps shouldn’t be done through ahelps, they should be done through mhelps.
Admins can see both and often don’t respond to mhelps as they are pilled with tickets to do, hence why we have mentors.
Mhelping sends it to more people, and the response from admins is usually a guess / look at wiki if they don’t know since we almost always reply to ahelps
Seriously though I am not lying if you can check how many of my mhelps go unanswered please do I would like to know
Mentors are players too, usually they might be busy or dont know the answer.
I’m fairly certain that on the default TG station wiki it says ‘feel free to ask admins questions. they’re here to help u!’

This is pretty much the only reason why we sometimes don’t respond, it’s not like we see person and just ‘meh fuck him’, we either are busy ingame, don’t know the answer or simply somehow miss that we’ve been mhelped.
Yeah, its pretty much a pointless role. In my experience there’s nothing mentors know that isn’t found easier on the wiki, and if you really want to be personally walked through something there’s always a department head or a bored coworker more than willing to show off their skills.
