You don’t have to rebrand as an 18+ xxx hardcore server, just do what everyone else does, ban people who admit they’re underage.

We have not, actually. We’ve removed people who actively refused to enforce our changes, but we haven’t removed anyone because they didn’t fit into an adjusted scope. If we have, we wouldn’t be in this position since we wouldn’t have grandfathered any underage admins into our current staffing policy.
Correction. We have had one instance which could arguably count. We did have a rule adjustment that forced staff to pick between being part of our staff or wasp, who at the time was fairly hostile towards us and provided a number of leaks from our restricted channels. Although this was a bit more targeted and wasn’t an overall project scope change.

you know what i think is overly hypocritical? i think you saying that it’s unfair to make the server 18+ because you REFUSE to kick minors off your team, and then at the same time give them unrestricted access to 18+ material because of “muh audit logs”.

The content is not as explicit as you’re making it out to be, and it does not equate to erotic reading materials that are easily accessible by a large percentage of our community.
But, if you choose to unfairly boil things down to fit your claims, then sure.
that claim is unprovable, and it’s still hypocritical regardless, you have destroyed thousands of player creations because of muh “nsfw” but still let minors see explicit content.
and uhh, nsfw is nsfw, dance around it all you want, make these claims that you can’t possibly prove, it’s alright. ruko said themselves that the “audit logs” has such NSFW content that they themselves said that bastian shouldn’t be made admin again, because bastian is underaged, unless ruko was for some reason lying about this?
and what am i unfairly boiling down lol? minors on your little team there have access to NSFW content, unrestricted, on your discord server. simple fix would to not let minors see that, but apparently, that is really hard for you to do. “but its for audit logs!” then don’t let them moderate. you all love making rules but when they come back to bite you in the ass it’s like they don’t even mean anything

It does seem that if you have admins have a job of removing erotic material because it is verboten, and you have admins that are minors, you are by definition exposing minors to erotic material in the course of allowing them to be admins.

I’m aware. Exposing a very small number of people while protecting the vast majority of others. It’s a bit paradoxical, I’ll admit. I never said we were perfect in this enforcement, just that it wouldn’t make sense to go 18+ due to our current staff arrangement.
Pretty sure they updated it so you had to be over 18 to be admin a while ago, and as far as I’m aware, they fired bastian, who was the last admin under 18 to my knowledge

It’s paradoxical, and something that we acknowledged and accepted when it was first announced.
This isn’t anything new. But, with that said, this discussion has gone off topic, so I’ll redirect discussions back to books specifically. A separate topic can be created about staffing if you wish to continue discussions there.

That might be a neat thing. We’re looking at doing an approval system for new books. It might be nice to have trusted volunteers helping to manage that side of things.
Amusingly I am part of the history of it that is now deleted. Deb wrote a several part sci-fi erotic fanfic about us a long time ago. Which was actually quite well written.
