**Additional Information:So I think this job ban is kind of ridiculous, I went out into space with some buddies, they said they had already found a ship. I was hoping to get a med beam gun so I went with. We took the hand tele just incase we needed to get back. Anyways because we are all idiots we all died to the shitty Nukie npcs. Luckily before I went I told the heads on the command channel I would be gone and gave a medic all med access to take my place while I was away. So after my death nothing really changed. Despite this some lad named “E” talked to me in dead chat and said “I should do that as a fucking assistant, that’s a fat job ban for you and warden”. I’m not sure if it was him/her who gave me the job ban or not.
This is an item which should generally only be in the possession of the Captain/Research Director. While there are two of them, it is considered to be a unique item and isn’t something for non-antags to just loot unless there’s a current and pressing need for the item.
It was not, you were reported by a player and this ban is the result of that player report. I’m the one that banned you.
You should not play a head of staff unless you intend to remain on the station and lead your department as a head of staff.
They are not roles to be taken purely for cool, extra equipment and extra access - you’re expected to lead your department and stay within it for the most part.
Cheers for the concise and good reply, to be honest I was to lazy to check that it was five days. I thought it was permanent and that seemed a little unfair to me.

Would you like to know how enforcing the taking of unique items is enforced? When it is reported. If the unique is something that is not easily noticable or frequently used, it isn’t easily caught. You pretty much have to be on top of someone when they use a hand teleporter to realize they had it, or be checking the bag contents of players constantly.
Just because it’s not easy to enforce doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist
also not like I increased the punishment here - I wouldn’t have known if they didn’t say something so I just posted that to be informative.
I see the teleporter room one used, very regularly, by literally everyone except the two people you named. If it’s under the same protections as the CE suit, for example, then it shouldn’t be, the server’s norms are already a half-marathon away from you on this one.
Regardless of your personal disagreement with it, that’s how it has been for as long as we’ve had the rule protecting unique items from being taken by non-antags. I can’t help it if people are ignoring it except by spreading awareness or warning and then banning.
It is a capital crime to take the hand teleporter. It is protected as a high-risk item and players are not permitted to loot high-risk items without permission. Heads of staff and security are expected to protect high risk items, not hand them out like candy.
In any case, with acceptance from the other player, I don’t think this appeal needs to remain open any longer.
