This is pretty harshly applied for me. Especially since I only have 1 note. It was an honest mistake and I feel like an idiot for it. Why did I not look at it any other way than I did? No idea. I have no idea why I did not see it as self antagonization While it was stupid for me to do this I do believe this is a little harsh for a first time offender even if I said I was ok with any punishment given. I did not expect a full 2-day server ban. Maybe a 3-day antag ban at most. If I get unbanned or get this reduced you will not see such a stupid mistake out of me again, really have no idea what I was thinking. Sorry guys
OP has said himself that the ban is valid in this very post. I really don’t see why you’ve got your panties in a twist for me saying that 2 days aren’t very long.
I just said to properly respond to his appeal, and you saying ‘it’s ONLY 2 days’ means it is a short amount of time, while you could’ve just told that ban is okay and will stay, then close the thread (angered admins could still answer). It really sounds like you don’t care because it’s short, while this should work like that, right?
I would have closed and denied the thread from the get-go if I didn’t care. I was simply stating my opinion that 2 days was a short amount of time for this. @GameAdmin can always chime in.
And I understand why you didn’t do it, you just seemed to not care by saying ‘it’s only 2 days’, I’m not implying you did, you just seemed and that’s why I responded.
Edit: Not trying to affect the ban at any way, I don’t care in this case, just the way it was ‘handled’ by the first response.

It’s the equivalent of “you’re only able to make an appeal because I’m allowing you”. Even if you are trying to prove a point to a mentor. Even though 2 days is considered a short time I’m saying a full server ban for my first offense and something done accidentally is a little harsh, seriously. It was an accident and I fucked up, why server ban me from both servers?

I don’t understand the connection between these at all. He’d seem mad with power if he just closed it and said he didn’t care, but by leaving it open for continued discussion and input, he’s allowing room for others to disagree instead of using their abilities as an admin to close a shut and dry case? You did the bad, admitted to doing the bad with no excuses or good reasoning offered and you got punishment for doing the bad. Cooperation and understanding is appreciated, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t be punished.
Personally if I got an explaination like that, not realizing it was self-antag and an agreement not to do it again, I would have left a severe note rather than taking admin action. Maybe gibbed/removed you from the current round so you don’t get the gratification of playing it out.
At a surface level, I do feel like two days for someone with no notes and handling the ticket in a civil and understanding way is excessive… though you’ve come here as a prior admin from another server, so I’d feel like you should definitely have understood this was self antag at the same time, so I don’t have the same strong feeling the ban should be lifted like I would for an actual new player.
Seems harsh if we don’t factor off-server experience, seems justifiable if we do. No strong feelings for or against removal of the ban.
Purposely being recruited into a conversion type antag was allowed on Hippie for a LONG TIME. Also to me it seems like he is mad with power ( I do not believe the admin is mad with power. I believe the statement could be interpreted like that ) because he did not have to mention that especially since I had not questioned him myself. It sounds like an odd flex when I’ve said nothing but I am sorry and believed the ban was too harsh.
I don’t see Xly abusing power here at all. Trust me, if he wanted you gone, you would never have had this post seen in the first place. I quite enjoy that he’s left this open to discussion, even though the outcome isn’t changing.
