Appeal Reason:
Even if the note is low severity, it’s still overblown. The note states i broke parts of the station needlessly, which is just false in the context.
The situation that happened was simple : I get beamed down to brig to capture a lone sec off (from what my abductor buddy tells me).
Turns out there’s a moth clown, who apparently triggered an emp? The firelocks thus go down and lock the doors.
I, in a hurry to get to them before they’re able to call for backup, or to at least snatch their body away to maints, try and crowbar the firelock. There’s a, like, 10 to 15 seconds delay with a really loud noise for everybody to hear, and on top of that there’s still the airlock i’ll need to hack due to not having brig access.
On the spot, I decide to simply try and go around this firelock and break the window next to it to still push forward. I do so with the fireaxe (2 hits, so about 2 seconds) but don’t even have the time to hit the grille before, oh no !, another seccie arrives and i get blasted by lasers then beamed up.

I then get bwoinked. That’s it. I broke nothing else, either before or after this event.
The window turned out to be protecting brig from having its airs scrubbed due to an emped scrubber, but the emp was super recent & I saw no pressure loss when I was on the spot so i had no way to know this would occur.

Having this note describe my ONE window break for what I believe to be a justified reason, as “destroying partS of the station (windowS)” completely over exaggerates what happened.

The note also states I could have used my tools, but… no ?
At that point, the firelock had already made a lot of sound, the one (1) seccie was aware of my presence, I didn’t have time to just stand still for 10-15 seconds to force open a firelock and hack a door (which possibly was bolted due to emp, although I didn’t know nor thought about it) and deconstructing the reinforced window would have taken just as long on top of allowing sec to potentially shoot me with lasers instead.

Additional Information:

I do agree with the note, mind you. Abductors shouldn’t go around breaking shit for the sake of breaking shit/for easy convenience, it’s bad, icky, no good and not fun for everyone to have to clean up after the guy who teleports all around the place to break shit, which I made clear that it was my standpoint in the ticket.

I just do not think that what I did even resembles what the note states I did.

I’m alright with adjusting the wording of the note to mention that one window was broken with a fireaxe, but I remand that you did have an option to use your tools, let me regurgitate what I said in-ticket. Use them to open the firelock and try hack the door open. If you are concerned about security potentially shooting you with lasers then you shouldn’t have been in the middle of brig.

You are meant to be observers cataloging and preforming experiments on the denizens of the station, through deception (your disguises) and tactics (singling out individuals). I didn’t know before this round but apparently abductors cannot teleport into the armory, but they certainly can teleport into that security office, so that is a possibility. I’d hate to be that guy, but you (and your scientist) picked your target.

I don’t want to escalate this to an admin report over something minor like this.
I still disagree that tools could be used because it simply wasn’t realistic in such a fast-paced, high-tension situation where I was in the middle of brig.
Which I tried even if the logs don’t show it, I used the fireaxe as a crowbar on the doors before realising it’d take too long & moving to the window before getting gunned down massively. I guess logs only record if the action is finished, not if it’s attempted. I saw the extremely long timer and decided that, no, this situation is way too tense to wait out the full duration.
Yes, we chose to go there, but I didn’t expect to be sent with reinforcement so close by.

I also somewhat disagree with this, abductors are given a straight up combat mode that cancels all stuns & instantly restores all stamina damage with really high protection on every limb. They’re at least aware that when dealing with high threat targets, it’s reasonable for their abductor agents to have proper gear to handle them.
While I know it’s not reason to go whacko, right before teleporting sec had announced “all officers go out on patrol for abductors right now !!” which both me and the scientist assumed that no one would return to brig. It wasn’t just “lol go to brig for le funny fighting”, there was reason behind it. I wasn’t the one able to tell whether it was a good idea and whether more people could come anyways, all I had were the comms.

But yeah, the wording on the note is much better, so, thank you for it

After reading over this note, and discussing it internally we’ve decided that this situation does not warrant a note.

As an abductor, you are experimenting on the crew, and whatever you do shouldn’t make big “waves”. As an abductor you are visitors/scientists and the station is your zoo.
In general, abductors shouldn’t go around breaking stuff, but in this specific situation Howluinb really couldn’t do anything else. Firedoors take ages to open and security was closing in.

Abductors are able to teleport into the brig to abduct someone in there. Be it a prisoner or anyone from security. Breaking a window to get out and not literally fail the whole mission makes perfect IC sense for abductors.
They shouldn’t go into the brig to mess and harm security, that is not their job, but trying to abduct someone and breaking a window while doing so really is… nothing.
