How do you feel about the great resprite?
  • I hate it, bring the old sprites back.
  • I dislike it, old sprites were better.
  • I don’t really care.
  • I like the new sprites.
  • I love the new sprites, I want more.

After the resprites, some people really got angry over it. I just wanted to know how many people actually think that a resprite is beneficial to the server.

This should really be simpler.
Option 1. Revert
Option 2. Keep
Option 3 keep some revert some

I think there should be an option that allows you to play with old sprites, some sprites need to get resized though.

That would be way too much work for no pay off.

If your gonna add more sprites you should at least change how everything else looks like, just changing items is gonna make 1 side of the station look a lot different from the other side.

changing the entire look of everything takes time. changing small amounts of things at a time will eventually change everything, with the bonus of letting people see what it all looks like so they can decide how they feel about it.

Thats what azlan is aiming for in a long run.
You can’t resprite entire game in one day.

I think the biggest letdown is the color palette. The dull brownish yellows et al made me wonder if the artist has some degree of red-green color blindness. I don’t mean that in a mean spirited way - it really jumped out at me.

I like a lot of the new sprites, but there are a few specific ones that really irk me.

  • The multitool. This does not look like a multitool. This does not look like the previous sprite. This does not look like a tool. This looks more like a HD version of one of the strange EXPERIMENTOR objects you can find in maint, and looks too similar to the t-ray imo
  • The welders aren’t bad, but they don’t look distinct from eachother, save for the last stage and emergency ones.
  • The gas mask. By itself it looks good, but i’m sad to leave the iconic one behind
  • Batteries: What the f*ck is that perspective??
