Your CKEY (Including any alts you have): Froststahr
Your Discord Name (Including any alts you have): Ithiria#9193
How often are you online to play/admin? (Timezone): I can guarantee a couple hours at least, although I’ve been playing more than that recently. CST.
What changes, if any, would you bring?: Not much aside from more eyes on the game. I want to make some stuff to submit as PRs, but that’s not related to this.
How old are you?: 23
Why do you want to be an admin?: It seems like an appealing way to help around directly, and sometimes there aren’t many around when I’m playing at weird hours. I also like to spectate some rounds and do ghost roles, so I think it’d be a good fit there.
How long have you been playing SS13?: 8 years (sparsely between like 2017 to 2020 though.)
How long have you been playing BeeStation?: bit over 2 months. 180 hrs here specifically.
On a scale of 1-10, how skilled are you in SS13?: 7. I’m bad at antag and don’t enjoy science. But I have a basic understanding of everything but circuits I think.
On a scale of 1-10, how skilled are you as an admin?: 6 or 7, I’m fine at parsing logs to figure stuff but have only done stuff in private servers.
Have you ever been an admin on another server? This is not limited to SS13: In recent times I hosted a mordhau server for a few months where I had to cull the gamers. And I’m part of a community TTT server in gmod, though that one is usually just getting friends together, so not much needed there. Way back I was heavily involved in gmod and CSS, and my “best” experience there was probably being a jailbreak mod.
I say best because other than that I mostly had powers due to running it/being friends with people, and was pretty shit. ~10 years ago. It’s also the most similar game.
Do you have any alternate accounts on SS13? If so, could you provide their CKEY?: None. Not the only one at my house that plays ss13, but I don’t think they play bee.
Your strengths: I’m calm, willing to explore new things, and readily admit fault.
Your weaknesses: Sometimes people don’t deserve much benefit of the doubt, there’s a “right” level and I’m probably too forgiving/hopeful at times.
Is there anything that gets you really mad, real fast?: I only blow a gasket for interpersonal stuff, but I get irritated seeing people ignore people they aren’t supposed to ingame, and being dicks in ooc/dead chat sometimes.
What do you think is the most important trait for a staff member to have?: Openness, basically an ability to communicate their thought processes to people.
What makes a staff team good?: Cohesiveness is the most important I think
What is a staff team’s purpose?: Maintain gameplay standards and ensure that the rounds are fun
What kind of player are you?: I like playing silicons and engineering/atmos the most generally. I think it’s gratifying to produce something helpful in the game, or fulfill some sort of need.
How do you think you will change once you become a staff member?: To be honest i’m actually not sure. It probably gives you a very different look on the game to be dealing with players in ahelps and sometimes mentorhelps than just interacting IC.
The clown slips the HoS and steals his gun, spacing it right after. What do you do?: If it’s the personal gun, clown should be warned that he shouldn’t do that to high value items that tators might need. If a traitor in the round actually needs it for an objective he should get a replacement objective, either that or the gun replaced at its spawn location.
If it’s just a disabler, then it’s only a problem if the HoS is responding to something urgent and dangerous, like chasing down a known changeling on red alert. Otherwise it should be handled IC.
A non-antagonist is sabotaging the Atmospherics loop and pumping plasma into the distro, along with dragging around a canister and releasing it into the atmosphere. Assuming that another admin is cleaning up the after-effects, how do you conduct the ahelp with him?:
In most circumstances the mass malicious intent here is very blatant, so usually a very long or perm would be warranted.
If it’s like an attempt to fight a blob, it might just end in a note or nothing if it’s at a stage where the blob has essentially won. Should also be told that you should ahelp before doing stuff as destructive as that to defeat an antag.
A chemist who is working alone accidentally mixes an explosive mixture inside of his chem dispenser, instantly killing himself and destroying the machine, along with exposing Chemistry to space. Nobody else was injured aside from him as a result of his actions. What do you do?:
Nothings warranted here I think.
Oh, I tailored these answers to sage since it’s where I play. I wouldn’t mind hopping on golden as needed, but sage is my home. 180 hours is honestly fairly low but I thought it was worth a try
