Floating corpses midround thingy

You ever wonder given the number of people that get yeeted out of airlock and never found, how none of them ever land on ANOTHER station. Well this is that. Every once in a while, either in large waves heralded by a central command announcement or in smaller waves relatively consistanly, a corpse or corpses will drift toward the station, and probably land on the solars or something.

The corpses could have loot, I’m thinking the sort of loot you would get from the rarer legion corpses, like the holy knight, a carp tamer, a dead clown, a dead cluwne, and so on. Perhaps rarely, you could get a dead syndicate, dressed up in those coloured suits from the derelict, and with red cards in their pocket.
Dead ghostroles, fallen sec officers with mindshield or disabler in pocket, wizards (with benign artifacts mostly, such as maybe a bag of spell tomes), ninjas (katana or not would need balance testing), nightmares (offering the body to ghosts in case someone is stupid enough to let it revive would be a consideration), and maybe even chrono legionaires (No TED with them, for obvious reasons) and ERT/HonkSquad/ParaERT members if you really want to push it (No pulse weapons, duh) All of these would be dilluted with a steady stream of common corpses and husks, maybe just a jumpsuit, a random ID, and a zippo or dice bag in the pockets.

As a secondary idea to add onto this. rarely, very rarely, a dead romerol zombie or changeling in stasis (WAIT HE ISNT DEAD, SHIA SUPRISE) could be offered to ghosts, then land on station, to revive and bring havoc in a manner and at a rarity not dissimilar to a lone op.

I think this idea would be good for the game as it would provide more to do within the general station z-level, without risking dying in the abyss of space, never to return. It also provides an excuse to add a janitor EVA suit because he needs to clean the corpses (also purple EVA suits always look awesome and I don’t get why RD’s isn’t)

Thank you for coming to my TED talk

sounds cool but like, a bit op? like some of the stuff is pretty powerful, nothing ever in the game grants random rare loot like this, and with skinsuits any old ipc (or brave greyshit) can just float towards it and get free gamer loot. giving away free antag items for free is a very dumb idea to do, if it was just regular corpses i would understand if they are extremely rare but the way you phrase it it seems like there would almost always be one or two of these bodies with antag items. if they just had stuff like, an eva helmet with no suit or vice versa and you could try and collect and add these things together to make a complete set of something you can find in the station, maybe but giving away antag items for free is kind of a nono

point made, but this is just meant to add spice to the area around the station. And like spice, it should be used subtly to improve the flavour of a dish without overwriting it. What im saying is one corpse, if you’re lucky, and maybe keep the antag items as non-harmful as possible. For example, an esword, hell nah. But a syndie balloon? Hell yeah! As a rule of thumb, if you could get better as an assistant, its clear.

Hell, even if you could get a gun or something, you can already get them from space. Less risk, less reward, because you don’t know what you’re getting, but you can at least cry out over comms when a space shark eats your face.

edit what is a fule
edit edit i made the rule of thumb actually being a fule and i thought it would show my edit but it didnt so this is all unnessecary.

i do not know?

also how would it interact with Z levels, and would ghosts be attatched to corpses? If i got killed and spaced on LRP, could i then be cloned and revived on MRP? Would i count as dead for antag objectives?

you would be dead for lrp but antags could get objs on you if you got revived on mrp
and it should be like a thing in the ghost tab that says “drift to a different place” and do that so its not just random

alright so what if i died, did “Drift to a different place” got revived, got killed and spaced AGAIN, did “Drift to a different place” again, and got revived again. Would i be dead or alive?

i dont think you should really have the power to do it again, like a one time thing per round

alright but what happens to antag status. If you’re a traitor, do you stay a traitor when you hit the other station? Ling? Wizard?

wizard? no
something like a tator or something, depends on gamemode, say if its tators and your a ling and you float over, you can stay a ling
if its something like clockys or blood cult or some round ending antag, a message could display saying like “the {antag employer} forbids you float too far away from this sector”

“Drifting this far would put you beyond Nar’sie/Rat’var’s Influence. Do you wish to continue?”

So to summarise so far
Along with the corpse drifting addition, corpses on a different Z level to that of the station gain a special verb, called “Drift to a different place”
This connects you to the other server, deletes your initial body minus any antag objectives or otherwise unique items, and spawns a copy of your body complete with items, lost limbs, and such drifting towards the station. You also lose this verb, and regain it when the round ends.
If an antagonist such as a changeling, traitor, or nightmare (nothing round ending) you maintain your antagonist status upon drifting, and also retain objectives.
If a cultist, revolutionary, or gangster, the verb would grant a special message asking for confirmation, and strip your antagonist status upon transferring.
Monkey… should be removed but for the sake of fluff the virus would probably be killed by elongated vaccum exposure or something.
If a round ending solo antagonist such as a nuclear operative (that somehow hasn’t exploded yet) or a wizard, your antagonist status is removed and your inventory (again, excluding antag objectives which simply continue to drift) is emptied before you transfer, being replaced with a shiftstart assistant loadout or maybe the job you have set to high if theres an open slot.
