The ping was done in direct response to him warning someone else for pinging. The ping served no purpose except to poke the bear.

I want to mention that when replying on discord, there is a very clear toggle that allows you to reply without pinging. You didn’t actually have to ping, even while replying to the message.
After review of your general discord behavior and your game behavior as well, I’m going to go ahead and reject this. You went out of your way to poke the bear, you got slapped for it - Sit in the hole you dug for a while.
When this is eventually lifted, maybe stop playing with fire and pushing the line with what you post.
