Incident Description: After I, the HoS, let a traitor off with a tracking implant and a 15 minute sentence for committing major crimes at the maximum, Ianaurii proceeded to argue and yell at me across sec comms, common, and LOOC over how I should have executed the traitor for being an EOTC (they were not)

Additional Information: As far as I can recall the incident in detail, I suggested multiple times for them to brush up on space law and read the hostile agent law as they kept suggesting that we execute the traitor we had. When it was clear this wasn’t going to change their perspective, I had to give in detail the difference between EOTC and Hostile Agent, and why syndicate agents were not EOTC. All of this was IC so far, from what I can remember.

At that point I thought I had left that topic dead and buried but eventually Ianuarii started to rave about it over sec comms, common comms, and LOOC to the point that it pretty much went into the realm of spam. Regardless of what I said to them, both IC, and also discussing it over LOOC. They would not stop, and thus they put all of their time and energy into complaining over comms somewhere in engineering instead of helping me and the rest of sec look for a deceased seccie that was murdered by an armed criminal.

It reached a point where it was so bad, that a borg approached me in the halls and told me exactly where they were, I had intended to demote them earlier but the above mentioned issued side tracked me, but I used this information to follow through with my original intentions and demote them (I had to arrest them just to do so) for Insurbordination, Disruptive Comms, and a complete lack of care for doing their job. Even after demoting them and confiscating their headset, they continued to argue about it on the shuttle, all the way to centcom.

As for some specifics for what they said over LOOC, they wanted me to ask a mentor as they had done a mentorhelp before and were told to that traitors were in fact EOTC… for the benefit of the doubt I’m just going to assume a misunderstanding happened here somewhere. Some of their demands about asking for me to do a mentorhelp kind of got a little bit icky ocky on the emergency shuttle but I don’t remember anything specific.

For the mhelp context, I believe their mhelp ACTUALLY asked if the syndicate was an enemy of NT in the lore.

I said they were an EOTC because a mentor told me. If I was told that syndicate isn’t an EOTC, I would have dropped it.

And if I’m not wrong, the confirmed syndie killed again after we let them go, it’s kinda dumb that we have to let people that we know are going to kill go freely

And honestly it didn’t get icky ocky since inside IC I told you to ask CC, but in looc I told you to ask a mentor

As you can see in notes of EOTC, crewmembers that are hired by syndicate are members of syndicate. They are still crewmembers hired by NT, not hostile entity who boarded station with hostile intents which are EOTC’s.
ONLY heretics and changlings are allowed to be executed without permison of Captain or Acting Captain.
Beside: Only the Captain can authorize an Execution or Forced Cyborgization.Executions after capture are not authorized with the sole exception of changelings.
It’s not in power of HoS or Secoff to execute

Yeah I was confused by the wording of everything in EOTC, which is why I asked a mentor but the mentor misunderstood me, the whole ordeal would have been avoided if not for the misunderstanding

Mentor are also not administrative staff members; and if you have a question relating to administrative rules you should ahelp, not mhelp. The mentor should have escalated your ticket in this case rather than answering so long as your question was clearly about rules (which it seems you did not phrase it such). You can still take the advice of a mentor if no admins are available, but you should play it safe because mentors are not admins.

Just 20-30 minutes of gamer rage thrown at the HOS and Cap, breaking all immersion and R7. It’s normal to get frustrated at some aspects of the game/server, it’s not normal to lash out at players and ruin their rounds as well. If you believe something is wrong, take it to admins so we can act as an intermediate. If you witness this happen to someone in game, ahelp as well. We do not want to foster this kind of interactions on this server.
