Thats normally because of one of two things.
1: Botany is the station crisis.
2: Botany cant respond to the station crisis.

how the fuck are organic glowing lightbulbs grief
You can put chems in them.
Because they’re ugly as shit and on par with spray painting the entire station.
Hmm yes entire station being a 120W lightbulb.
I personally think it is balanced.
It is as powerful as anything you can get out of traitor pda, generally less than, especially when considering the combinations of gear, and takes a minimum of 30 minutes to create, longer even depending on your RNG.
Anyone making instant one hit killing produce + using them that isn’t an antagonist needs an ooc dealing with, just the same as if you toxins max capped medbay.
Just because a dept has access to these things doesn’t mean it should be used outside of specific circumstances.
A simple solution would be to have separate bags that can detect the contents of chemicals and/or plant type that store a certain amount of such.
For example a green plant bag and a red plant bag.
Sometimes you need to make a red plant bag for cargo bounty of items. It could also be a role restricted purchase from the traitor PDA “weaponised plant bag” that overrides the norms. There’s no need to make carrying around dangerous items easy.
This is the real problem with botany at the core of it.
There’s no incentive to do good for the station other than wanting to be nice and help people. I don’t think without severe changes as to “why you are on the station” this will come about and is a player mindset change, and making departments more reliant on each other.
Fun I’ve dun:
-I’ve spent rounds terraforming the room to all manner of things.
-Sold barrels of chocolate pudding filled with omnizene.
-Moved trays with healing chem fruits that can be picked at the entrance of medbay.
-Brewed beers of questionable content.
-Supplied the chef with the foods that he wanted and made the kitchen shared fridge have a scroll bar of fruit and veg
-made many stylish clothing options via dying durathead
-gambled with strange seeds for over two hours. Just cause.
Stuff that needs to be outright removed:
Stuff that should be nerfed:
Stuff I wanna see:
Other than that, don’t take this 100% seriously. It’s a lotta nerfs…
Prox Aggro would be nice.
YES!
Several servers have Plant BOHs. So sure.
Yeah. It shouldnt be.
Neutral.
Or just move them to an illegal seed vendor. That way they are still available but limited. And heavily nerf their RNG.
God no please.
Its not. You have no idea how much that thing can fit…its insane.
I like this idea.
Okay, I’m all for getting that biogenerator capacity change in. As for the strange seed situation, I’m not sure how you nerf RNG unless we’re going with a sort of loot table where it’d have a certain chance to draw from each pool. But then again…
Buff qudzu.

Holy heck, this thread sure blew up since I checked beestation yesterday. O.o
Yes, people wanna see the haha funni plant department be an actual thing
Ruko is sure gonna have a fun time when he comes back later…im sure i am going to get another angry message from him complaining about all the replies…
also botany is fun making death plants, making it antag is b a d. - Confucius
imagine being mad at someone for literally plants
That’s incorrect, you can make deathnettles at max potency with liquid contents gene in the first 5 minutes of the round in vast quantities. They will kill whoever you throw them at in 2 hits and will delete most of their worn items, they can also melt through everything that’s not a reinforced wall.
You can make instagibbing explosive holy melons in a similar amount of time, as separated chems is a trait obtainable from first subspecies mutations of some plants.
You can make infinite spiders from first minute of the round that will spread all around the station.
That’s just the minimal effort things you can do without any intricate knowledge.
@NashLux Your entire post seems awfully familiar.
Half that shit’s what I agree with. I’m just gonna delete it if you want.
That’s an odd reaction, you’re free to post what you want man.
Well, only thing I came up with was the slightly reducing reagent capacity in plants with seperated chems. I’ll admit I just didn’t wanna get called trash at botany.
Compared to some of the shit the masters of Botany can do. We are all kinda trash.
