BlueScope banned by bloons3

CKEY: BlueScope

Admin’s CKEY: bloons3

Ban Type: OOC

Ban Length: 3 Days

Ban Date (MM/DD/YYYY): 07-07-2020

Round ID: 18208

Ban Reason:
You have been banned by Bloons3 from Roles: OOC.
Reason: You’re allowed to have an opinion on something. But in game is not the venue for it, and the amount that you’ve been mentioning it is bordering on spam. Cool off for a bit.
This ban is temporary, it will be removed in 3 days. This ban applies to all of our servers. The round ID is 18208.

Appeal Reason: Three days is an unfair amount of time, given that the specified ban reason was for spam. I linked the appropriate thread (Thread Link) only about three or four times over two rounds in OOC.

BlueScope didn’t incite anything. All he did was tell the playerbase about the dumb rule you guys conjured up with mental diarrhea and people thought it was dumb. Him informing the masses about a dumb rule and them getting mad about the dumb rule =/= him inciting drama. Literally no one new about this rule until he stepped up which is pretty screwed up that this had to happen

Why is the admin who gave me the ban the same person reviewing the appeal? Why have two other appeals been processed since my was posted a day ago? The egregiousness of this ban is pretty cut and dry, am I mistaken?

The banning admin will approve or deny the ban appeal. If denying, they must solicit the opinion of at least 1 other admin.

Ah, thank you for clarify that policy.

I’ll shorten this to 1 day if that’s good with you

That’d be lovely, thank you.

I guess I misunderstood what you said. I assumed that a reduction to a 1 day ban meant that I’d have already served the time, instead of still being required to be OOC banned for posting a link three or four times, directing players to a thread on this forum, over two rounds. Please also note that the ban reason lists “bordering” on spam, instead of actual spam, and asking me to chill out. Is three days an appropriate “chill out” period? Is that consistent with usual enforcement?
While I’m asking - why was I even given a three day ban in the first place? Is that not excessive? Should I just make an admin complaint, after this ban appeal has been processed or can that be addressed in this thread?
None of these questions are fatuous, I genuinely want to know the answers, so that I can better understand the rules as enforced in the future.
My general impression is that I was bringing up a subject that the staff find to be difficult, and as a result, netted a ban. Please post something which dissuades me of this notion.

The ban should be lifted now.

To answer all of your concerns in one simple way - Don’t intentionally start drama when you don’t get your way. Three days was probably too much.
