“Immediatelly* harassing other players after returning from a ban, flashbangs, strips and taunts a moth until they call him out over comms, then calims the moth is valid-hunting for calling him out.”

Appeal Reason: This is flat out wrong. I didn’t strip or flashbang the moth prior to them “Calling me out”. I only flashbanged the moth AFTER they “Called me out”. Furthermore, I didnt even strip them, I took a toolbelt and ID I found on the floor of robo, I only removed their clothes after I had caugh them for “Calling me out”.

I’m putting that in quotes by the way because it wasnt just screaming for help. They were calling me VALID. I’m not sure if the player (or Ruko for that matter) are aware that ‘Valid’ means that someone is to be killed, but it clearly says in the rules

Validhunting (seeking/baiting players to kill in validity) in turn, makes you valid.

Just so everything is crystal clear, I will provide a timeline from my point of view, because either Ruko is acting in ignorance or (more likely) has been lied to by the moth;

-Enter robotics and see CE gear on the floor.
-I take the tools and ID
-Time passes and the CE is whining about an IC theft (He mentioned over comms that the items I took were antagonist objectives, but I did not take the nuke disk, advanced magboots, or station blueprints. so that was a lie)
-Eventually, the Moth CE calls me valid over comms to the tune of “Tyrone* took my stuff he is valid”
*Tyrone was the name of the char I was playing
-As per the rules, seeking someone to be killed via validity makes them, in turn, valid.
-Then, and only then, do I throw flashbangs to catch, and then strip them. I didn’t even kill them.
-They then started saying IC about how “They’re ahelping this” and putting IC in OOC by complaining about the event in OOC
-Ruko joins the server and questions me to as why I’m doing that to the moth
-I mention the rules even copy-pasting the exact word for word and explain the events that lead up to this. I also mention that if they find it an issue, perhaps the rules are at fault, not me; as I was obeying them.
-Ruko then ignores what I said, not adressing it or acknowledging it at all, and issues a 7 day ban

This is where you can see that the ban reason is simply false. It implies that I antagonized the moth CE and baited them into calling me valid. In reality I only took measures against the moth CE after they had declared me valid over comms. The worst thing I did was take some items I found on the floor.

Additional notes:
I strongly suspect that it wasnt Ruko being ignorant, but he was probably told an inflated and dishonest story by the moth CE. The CE player probably was unaware that valid is to have someone killed, but we all need to learn once :slight_smile:

The other players in question that I used to decide you were going on the extreme with your valid-hunting. Shooting someone with a Syringe gun in particular stands out, while the syringe was largely harmless that's not normally the case when someone is acting aggressively in your department.

With all of those one massive oversight on my part - I thought you were the one that killed the moth in the first place. I wasn’t told this, I drew that conclusion incorrectly on my own. That said this is still the first I’ve ever heard someone try to claim that calling someone out as a valid makes you valid.

It’s not valid-hunting to claim another player is valid to me, Valid hunting is valid-baiting, or spending all your shift/energy on trying to find the antags, or other players you have an excuse to kill. I’ll defer to the admins with more time spent on Golden for this though, it’s not my strong suit.

Should be lifted imo. Calling out someone over comms with 0 proof that the other person did anything wrong makes you valid. Plus, and assuming you’re telling the truth, that you didn’t do anything but lightly roast them for getting their shit stolen he shouldn’t be trying to get others to kill you. If he wants you arrested, fine.

Sorry for painting the wrong picture too hastily there. I really thought you had a lot more than just his toolbelt/ID initially and mis-interpreted the attack logs as being split before and after their death because I didn’t double-check the timestamps.

Combined with what looked like a fuckload of valid-baiting, I took it to be a case similar to Slav’s extreme validhunting/baiting. Ban reason adjusted on website, unbanned and note deleted.
