Antiloompa banned by rukofamicom

Took a week break the day after this was posted and didn’t see it, sorry about that
If it’s any consolation, I would have pushed for this ban to stay, but I can still try to explain a few points even though it’s expired now.

Appeal Reason: Ok, so this is how this went: Mime does dumb mime things (slips me, pushes me around). I decide to give him a good brig time for attacking me - albeit this might’ve been out of line, this kind of thing always tends to escalate and in my experience it is required to act on this or lose any semblence of authority one might have. Prepare the usual: flash, cuff, drag. He steals my flash. At this point he did not only attack me, he stole a potentially harmful item from me, raising the threat level for me. Should I have kicked him in brig? Prbably not. But I did not cause any lasting harm.

If you literally play sec to exert authority over others just because, that’s not a good sign by itself. Mimes/clowns are expected to play pranks, and you shouldn’t be giving either long brig sentences for literally doing their role. There are exceptions to this of course, but the mime simply slipped and shoved you in the hall - you weren’t busy on arrest or in any situation even close to critical at the time.

The mime did not cause lasting harm, you on the other hand beat the mime several times and didn’t heal them. That is lasting harm, even if not critting them.

Now, you have to know, this round we had a cult. After the mime was dealt with, I was gonna check on a cult base. Mime happens to come onto me in hallway, shoves me, pies me, the likes. I hit him back (I dont remember exactly, I dont have access to the logs), would have let it go at that point. He follows me in to maints. I am alone and someone who has attacked me in the past is following me beyond any reason. Into maints. Near a cult base. I dont recall the circumstances exactly, but I recall some sort of weapon being used by him first, which is why I unloaded my revolver.

Mime threw pie at you by hand, and did nothing to you while you were on the ground, and that’s the only “weapon” he used. Then you get up and rapidly unload your gun into the mime critting him within three seconds, and continuing to shoot him even after he was in crit.
You do have access to the logs via the linked player report, but I’ll paste them again here.

Additional Information: Even if this ban was reasonable - even if I didnt act violently towards someone who has repeatedly shown himself to be threatening

I’m sorry, what? The most threatening thing the mime did was take your flash and push you with angry emotes. You killed the mime twice and beat him in a cell. You need to re-evaluate whether or not you’re fit for security if you really believe you were in the right here.

it makes no sense to me to also ban me from all head roles. If you do not find it within yourself to unban me from sec roles, at least unban me from head roles.

Standard procedure - Being a head of staff allows you to still act as if you were security in many situations. If you aren’t fit for security, you aren’t fit to have authority over others is the rule of thumb for our security bans. Being on the other side of authority helps give a better perspective to your own actions as well.
